Daniel Farrugia graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2005, completing a Bachelor of Music Performance in Improvisation. During his first year at the the VCA, Daniel was honoured by academic staff with the 'Gwen Nisbet Encouragement Award', an award provided to students for commitment to musical activities at the School and in the community, and high level of attainment in performance and related academic studies.

A respected and established musician across a diverse variety of musical styles, Daniel has performed with artists and bands including Julia Stone, The Bamboos, Thomas Bartlett, Eddie Floyd, Eddie Bo, Syl Johnston, The Cat Empire, Renee Geyer, Doug Parkinson, Joe Chindamo Trio, Gregory Porter, Mia Dyson, Alice Russell and The Quantic Soul Orchestra.

Daniel is currently performing/touring with Tinpan Orange, Luke Howard Trio, Magnolia, Roscoe James Irwin, Nat Bartsch Trio, Anton Delecca Quartet and Murphy's Law.
